Who else is concerned?

The following people and bodies are now keeping a watching brief on the development or have actively expressed their concern.

As Chancellor of the University of Durham and a champion of the unique heritage of Durham University as set out in his book ‘Notes from a Small Island’, we have appealed to the author Bill Bryson to support our campaign. He wrote to us when he was a commissioner of English Heritage explaining that he was ‘not able to express personal views on matters that are or may come under consideration by the commission’. However, Bill is now President of the Campaign to Protect Rural England and as such may be more sympathetic to our cause.

Please write to him and ask him to help to preserve the uniqueness of the city of which he is so fond by helping to retain all the green areas on the riverbank.
